Canada Post operations not ‘viable,’ Carney says amid strike action

Prime Minister Mark Carney is defending his government’s decision to drastically scale back services at Canada Post this week. Carney says the beleaguered Crown corporation is simply not viable. The Liberal government announced the overhaul this week, arguing it’s needed to ensure the company’s survival. However, the union hit back, calling a sudden and nationwide strike – now into its second day. Touria Izri reports on the dispute, the delays and fears of widespread job losses.
